Go Fund Me Fundraiser for Adrian & Marion Thorp
Submitted By GTYSC Administrator on Monday, April 19, 2021
Please join the Grimsby Town Youth Soccer Club in supporting Adrian and Marion Thorp!

The Grimsby Town Youth Soccer Club values and appreciates the many volunteers who have made the Club a success.  Since the Club started in 1973, many dedicated people have devoted their time and energy to building the Club and promoting soccer in Grimsby and the surrounding community.

Many of our soccer families will remember Adrian Thorp who has been integral to the Grimsby Town Youth Soccer Club for many years and in many capacities.  Adrian is a long-standing member of the GTYSC and has made substantial contributions to the Club over the years.  Most recently, Adrian was the Club Administrator responsible for running all aspects of the club and supporting the players and their families, coaches, referees and board members.  Adrian’s wife, Marion, has also been very active in Grimsby serving the community through her work for over 25 years with the Grimsby Benevolent Fund.  Both Adrian and Marion have spent several years giving back to our community and we are asking for your help in supporting them both now.

Five years ago, Adrian began to lose his ability to move and doctors have been unable to provide a definitive diagnosis.  Now, at the age of 71, Adrian is confined to a wheelchair and is unable to leave his home because of a lack of an accessible vehicle. Adrian’s family has started a Go Fund Me fundraiser to improve Adrian’s and Marion’s quality of life.  Funds are being collected in order to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle to enable Adrian and Marion to leave the house (when COVID restrictions are lifted) so that they can be more mobile to go to appointments, run errands, watch their grandkids play sports and spend time with their large family.

Please help Adrian and Marion reach their fundraising goal of $35,000 by clicking on the link below to their Go Fund Me page:  https://gofund.me/eec24216

We know that the GTYSC community is comprised of very generous and supportive people.  We appreciate any help you can provide to Adrian and Marion!

Thank you!
